In an attempt to foster and develop Ghana’s growing tech community, a group of bloggers, activists and technologists are coming together to organise TEDxDzowrulu in Ghana’s capital Accra on 10 December 2011. The event will focus on innovation that has taken Ghana beyond traditional thinking and is producing budding entrepreneurs from across the country whose inventions and ideas are beginning to generate income and provide solutions to modern societal problems. At Indigo we’ve seen some of the innovation and creativity currently coming out of Ghana and it’s for that reason that we have awarded TEDxDzorwulu a grant of £4,000 towards the costs of organising the conference.
The event hopes to bring together innovators, explorers, bloggers, technologists, academics and entrepreneurs who embrace and encourage collaboration, conversation and interaction. The ultimate aim is also to create a network of doers & achievers who are able to “Think, Create and Innovate” for themselves. With videos from Ory Okolloh, Erik Hersman and Steve Jobs, among others, there should certainly be plenty to consider and discuss.
